My Story

At twelve, Jerome discovered a passion that would shape his life. It began with a school art project and a blank canvas, which ignited a spark within him. His first painting, Spider Forest, captured the attention of a woman who paid $20 for his first painting.

Jerome is a self-taught artist, driven by an inner vision that guided his brush with a sense of purpose and emotion. Each stroke on the canvas is not just an application of paint but a translation of the vivid images that dance in his mind. His oil paintings, rich with color, texture, and depth, are known for their unique ability to convey profound emotions and stories without needing words.

The tremors and involuntary movements that came with Parkinson’s began to influence the lines and forms in his paintings. What might have been perceived as imperfections became the very essence of his work. The once smooth and controlled strokes now carried a raw, impassioned energy that conveyed his struggle and resilience.

Each painting is a journey through his emotional landscape. The colors are bold and defiant, a declaration of his determination to live fully despite his condition. Viewers are captivated by his work's raw honesty and intensity, drawn into the emotional depths he so fearlessly explores.

Jerome continues to paint. Though sometimes unsteady, his movements are guided by a heart and mind that burn with creativity and passion. His art has become a powerful narrative, chronicling his journey with Parkinson’s and the unwavering spirit that defines him.
